What quality of wine kit should I purchase?

Our approach is built on producing wine that closely mirrors the commercial styles you enjoy — at a fraction of the cost. We make recommendations based on the quality level and price point of the wine you choose, helping you achieve the best possible result.

For those just getting started, we strongly recommend selecting the highest-quality wine kit available. The additional investment delivers exceptional value, resulting in wine that compares to fine commercial offerings while offering significant savings.

How long does it take to start?

Crafting your wine is a straightforward and enjoyable process. Your first visit typically takes about 15 minutes, with the most challenging part simply being choosing the wine you’d like to make. If needed, our team will guide you through the selection by asking a few quick questions to match your tastes.

Once you’ve chosen your wine style, the process is simple — you’ll add the yeast to the primary fermenter, and just like that, your wine is underway.

Will my wine be equivalent to commercial wine?

With the right ingredients, guidance, and process, it’s entirely possible to create wines that rival — and in many cases surpass — what you’ll find on store shelves. By controlling quality at every stage and allowing the wine the time it needs to develop properly, you can achieve flavour, balance, and character comparable to fine commercial wines, all while enjoying exceptional value. And for added peace of mind, every wine we produce is backed by our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee.

How much wine can a batch make?

Each batch of wine yields approximately 28–30 standard 750 ml bottles. You’re welcome to bring your own bottles, reuse bottles from a previous batch, or purchase bottles directly from us. If you choose to bring your own bottles, we simply ask that they are free of any wine residue before use. A quick rinse after each bottle is emptied is all that’s needed to keep them ready for your next batch.

How long does it take to make wine?

Most of our popular wine batches are ready in approximately 4–6 weeks, making them an excellent option for customers looking for a balance of quality and turnaround time. Our Ultra Premium wines follow a longer, more deliberate process and typically require up to 8 weeks, allowing for additional fermentation and clarification to achieve greater depth, structure, and refinement.

How many bottles of wine can I expect?

Most wine kits produce 23 litres, or approximately 30 standard 750 mL bottles. While that may sound like a generous amount to someone new to winemaking, it’s worth keeping in mind that many customers find themselves sharing bottles with friends and family — often because they’re genuinely proud of the finished result.

Do I need to age my wine?

Your wine will be quite enjoyable shortly after bottling, especially if it’s decanted for an hour or two before serving. With even a little time in the bottle, many customers are pleasantly surprised to see how quickly the wine begins to soften, integrate, and develop additional character over the following weeks and months.

Wines made from kits — whether crafted at home or produced on-site with us — are relatively young at the time of bottling. During the first few weeks to months, it’s normal for freshly bottled wines to show firmer or sharper edges. With a short period of aging, these characteristics naturally mellow, allowing the wine to mature into a smoother, more balanced expression.

How long will my wine last in the bottle?

Because craft wines contain significantly lower sulphite levels than commercially processed wines, they naturally have a shorter shelf life. Wines produced for retail sale typically include higher levels of sulphites to support extended aging and long-term storage in liquor stores or cellars. Our wines use only a fraction of those levels, prioritizing freshness and drinkability over long-term preservation.

As a result, our wines are best enjoyed within 12–18 months, when their flavor, balance, and character are at their peak.

Can I use my wine for weddings?

You are welcome to enjoy and serve your wine at any personal event or gathering you choose. The only restriction is that the wine may not be sold, in accordance with applicable regulations. As long as it is for personal use, sharing your wine with family, friends, or at private events is perfectly acceptable. Weddings are a great way to share your craft with others.
